We’re all creatives… now

Hi there, and welcome to All Creatives Now, a brand new one-stop creativity spot where you – a very smart and possibly quite attractive creative – can find all the information and resources you need to unleash your creative potential. Well, that’s the plan, anyway. Across our website, podcast, and Youtube channel you’ll find interviews that will inspire you whatever your creative discipline, as well as tutorials, articles, and other resources that will help you develop your creativity skills, connect with other creatives, and get your work out there into the world. That’s where it belongs, after all.

There’s a new economy emerging, and it’s built on creativity, driven by a new breed of makers leveraging the power of the internet to share their work with the world. There has quite literally never been a better time to be a creative, but at the same time, there’s never been a harder time, either. All Creatives Now was devised with the intention of examining this brave new world, looking at the growth in the creator economy, and facilitating conversations amongst creatives about what it is to be a creator in the modern world.

How do you keep integrity when dealing with global multinational distribution? How do you get attention in increasingly pay-to-play systems and algorithms? Is it okay to not want to make a living doing what I love? And is it okay if I do? And of course, the age-old question: Do I really need to humiliate myself by doing a terrible dance to get a TikTok following? We’ll be looking into all of these across our podcast, Youtube channel, and blog, helping any modern creative find inspiration, tips, hacks, and possibly even a fiver down the back of the sofa. Seriously, have you checked down there lately? You never know!

So, what can you expect from All Creatives Now?

Drumroll, please…

PODCAST

The All Creatives Now podcast is hosted by authors Paul Stephenson and Kev Harrison (more on them, shortly), and will feature interviews with creatives from a range of disciplines, from designers to musicians, from stand-ups to illustrators, as well as guest contributors from the companies bringing a range of new tools to help creatives reach their potential.

The podcast will be released whenever we can manage (hey, we’re busy people, you know?) and will feature interviews with people across the creative world. We are firm believers that a creative career is something that everyone can achieve, if they want to, and the best way to learn how to do that is to listen to people who are doing just that. We’ll talk to creatives of all stripes about their journeys, their passions, their struggles, and what it means to them to be a creative in the modern world. But, you know, we’ll probably throw some jokes in there, too, because at least one of us is a Dad whose family won’t listen to them anymore, and I can’t hear you rolling your eyes from across the internet.

Creative professionals, from illustrators to graphic designers to content creators, will find inspiration and resources in this podcast. Guest contributors will include people from companies that are bringing new tools and resources to the creativity space, but only so long as they fit in with our overall ethos. We’re pretty big on ethos here at All Creatives Now.

VIDEO

Like the podcast, but with moving pictures! Over at our YouTube channel you’ll get to see all the interviews, plus some bonus extra content, aka us f’in around and finding out.

WEBSITE (AKA THE THING YOU’RE LOOKING AT RIGHT NOW)

The website will also feature blog posts and interviews from guest writers discussing a range of topics related to creativity and the creator economy, as well as resources for creatives of all levels. Both the podcast and website will focus on conversations about creativity and the creator economy, as well as highlighting best practices and case studies from creatives around the world.

All Creatives Now will help the modern creative navigate this brave new world and have honest conversations about the issues faced by anyone wanting to take part in the brave new world of the creator economy. From keeping your integrity when dealing with corporate monoliths, finding fans when the algorithms don’t want you to, to dealing with the ever-changing landscape of creative tools, All Creatives Now is intended to be a one-stop shop for creatives.

WHO WE ARE

Okay, so we’re told you what we’re trying to do, but why the hell should you listen to us, anyway, aside from our luxuriant beards and soothingly pleasant English accents? Well, why don’t you meet the team?

Paul Stephenson writes pulp fiction for the digital age. He is the creator and narrator of Bleakwood, a horror podcast, and his first novel series – the apocalyptic Blood on the Motorway trilogy – has been an Amazon bestseller on both sides of the Atlantic. His work has been featured on the chart-topping horror podcast, The Other Stories, and his new eBook serial, The Sunset Chronicles, is a dystopian sci-fi thriller that will delight and terrify fans of science fiction and horror alike. He lives in England with his wife, two children, and one hellhound.

Kev Harrison is a writer of dark fiction and English language teacher from the UK, living and working in Lisbon, Portugal. His nomadic lifestyle has previously taken him to various cities in the United Kingdom, as well as to Turkey and Poland. He has an unquenchable thirst for travel and is passionate about food, photography, and music, as well as fiction. He is a staff writer for This is Horror and has had short fiction published in a variety of magazines, anthologies and podcasts. His two novellas, Below and The Balance, have garnered great reviews, as has his short fiction collection, Paths Best Left Untrodden.

Hollow Stone Press is an independently minded indie publisher focused on modern genre fiction, providing pulp fiction for the digital age, as well as All Creatives Now. We are huge believers in the power of community. One artist can achieve a great deal on their own, but together a group of artists with common interests can bend the world to meet them, and do so without compromise. We want to build a community of creatives who can help to build each other to be better creatives, and to better be able to achieve their dreams.

AND THAT’S ABOUT THAT…

Look at us, all fancy pants here with our structured formats. Almost like we know what we’re doing. Well, let me assure you that we don’t. But that’s okay, because anyone who claims they KNOW THE ANSWER to having all your dreams fulfilled is either a deluded fool, about to ask you for some money, or a deluded fool who’s about to ask you for money. That’s not what we’re all about, here at ACN. We’re creatives, too, and we’re on the same broken-down path as you, just trying to avoid the cracks with our bare feet as we go.

We hope you find All Creatives Now helpful and inspiring. If you have any questions or feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out. That’s what the comments box is for, after all. And hey, if you like what we’re doing, why not tell everyone you’ve ever met?
